Dive Control Specialist (DCS)
Program
This program combines the traditional training of the Dive Control
Specialist
and
Assistant Instructor into one course. It is
the first level of training for the SSI diving professional. DCS
certification offers you an expanded role beyond that of the
conventional Divemaster through an in-depth and hands-on program of
watermanship, knowledge development and practical application.
When
The Dive Control Specialist program begins with an orientation
session held from 7:00 to 10:00 PM on a weekday evening. The course
schedule is flexible and is set by the course instructor and the
course candidates. A minimum of 40 hours of training under the
direct supervision of the Dive Control Specialist Instructor is
required — 80 hours is recommended.

Cost
$700. The cost includes the course fee and Dive Control Specialist
book package. There is an additional $75 SSI fee for processing. A
minimum nonrefundable course deposit of $50 is required to reserve
your place in the course.
